1933
Turkish Airlines was founded, and passenger and cargo operations commenced.

1947
The first international passenger flight to Athens was operated. This flight is also considered to have likely marked the first instance of international cargo transportation.

1950
Total transported cargo volume exceeded 1,000 tons.

1973
The Yeşilköy cargo building was commissioned.

1975
The İzmir Çiğli cargo building was commissioned.

1977
The Ankara cargo building was commissioned.

1990
Total transported cargo volume exceeded 50,000 tons.

1992
The Cargo Directorate was established.

1994
The cargo terminal at Atatürk Airport was commissioned.

1997
Total transported cargo volume exceeded 100,000 tons.

2000
The Turkish Cargo brand was established.

2004
The first freighter aircraft (A310-300F) joined the fleet.

2010
The first A330F aircraft joined the fleet.

2013
Total transported cargo volume exceeded 500,000 tons.

2014
Direct cargo services reached 50 destinations.

2015
Operations moved to the new Atatürk Airport cargo terminal with a capacity of 1.2 million tons.

2017
The first B777F aircraft joined the fleet.

2019
Turkish Cargo became the first airline to receive certifications in three IATA CEIV categories simultaneously.

2020
Pax-Freighter operations commenced. More than 210,000 tons of pharmaceuticals and medical supplies, along with over 340 million doses of vaccines, were transported.

2021
SmartIST cargo operations were launched by the end of the year.

2022
All operations were relocated to SmartIST.

2023
Direct cargo services reached 100 destinations.

2024
Turkish Cargo ranked third globally with a 5.7% market share based on FTK (Freight Ton Kilometers).

2025
Maintaining its third-place position worldwide, Turkish Cargo increased its number of direct cargo destinations to 115.
